About
Graduated from the University of Memphis in 2003. My dissertation, "Structures of the Holy: Religion in Hegel and Levinas," was written under the direction of Robert Bernasconi.
Since 2004 I have been at Newman University in Wichita, KS. I am a tenured Associate Professor of Philosophy, President of the Faculty Senate for 2009-2010, and recipient of the Newman University Teaching Excellence Award for 2006-2007.
I have published articles in the Epoche', Philosophy and Social Criticism, the Journal of Cultural and Religious Theory, and International Studies in Philosophy.
Broadly speaking, my research projects pertain to religion, the virtual sphere and globalization, Judaism, metaphysics, and the formation of subjectivity. In addition to four published journal articles, one book chapter, and one co-translation with Leonard Lawlor, I have 70+ pages of a draft monograph regarding the role of Judaism in Hegel's "Phenomenology of Spirit." I also have three draft articles regarding religious themes in Levinas, and one in Agamben. Eventually, I hope to compose a monograph that uses the concept of infinity to fashion a model of religious subjectivity.
